Prayer For Change

Change Me Change me God, Please change me. Though I cringe Kick Resist and resent Pay no attention to me whatever. When I run to hide Drag me out of my safe little shelter. Change me totally Whatever it takes However long You must work at the job. Change me-and save me From spiritual self-destruction.

A Thought From Myself On Steps and Traditions

The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions in my thinking are a very determined spiritual practice and discipline.
Without them our lives become chaotic and find ourselves in the bitter morass of self -pity
and clueless what to do next.
I can say all this because Ive walked it without putting these principles and purpose in my daily walk and that is the result I ended up with.

Steps 1-3

Step 1 finding I am powerless left to myself alone
Step 2 finding God was just waiting for me to come to Him
Step 3 letting loose of the fact I no longer have control and asking God to take control

Step 4 was a physical task of writing after I asked God to take control

Thats as far as I can take anyone right now in my walk I havent gotten through all the way of step 4 it has been over 6 months since really taking an active part in it and I must finish it in order to take you through any more steps in my walk alone.

I cannot transmit something I don't have

I do hope to tell you soon I have completed this step but will not make any promises of when.

Twelve Traditions Of Alcoholics Anonymous

THE TWELVE TRADITIONS -- Short Form

1.) Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon A.A. unity.
2.) For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority-a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
3.) The only requirement for A.A. membership is a desire to stop drinking.
4.) Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or A.A. as a whole.
5.) Each group has but one primary purpose-to carry its message to the alcoholic who still suffers.
6.) An A.A. group ought never endorse, finance or lend the A.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.
7.) Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.
8.) Alcoholics Anonymous should remain forever non-professional, but our service centers may employ special workers.
9.) A.A., as such, ought never be organized; but we may create service boards or committee directly responsible to those they serve.
10.) Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the A.A. name ought never be drawn into public controversy.
11.) Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.
12.) Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.

The Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous

The 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous

1.) We admitted we were powerless over alcohol--that our lives had become unmanageable.
2.) Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3.) Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4.) Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5.) Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6.) Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7.) Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8.) Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9.) Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10.) Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11.) Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12.) Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

~~~A Thought From A Story Once Told~~~
a thought comes to mind it was like one of my very first ever speaker meetings to go to and for my HP is God so bear with me if I use the word God and if it makes anyone uncomfortable
But anyway this was during my very first time at like 19 trying to stay clean and sober it took 20 yrs to get 1 yr so guess what it didnt last but this story has
a lady named Connie got up to speak and she's talking about how we like to take control of thingsand she said being in the program is like being in a car with God only we are now in the passenger seat starting out we're riding along enjoying the ride, and what does an addict alky or kid do when they see buttons and levers...we push them! We want to know what they go to how they work why they are important if they are important So imagine we are on the 101 by the beach we found a button it releases the roof and it pops down and Gods ok with it He may even comment what a cool deal ridin convertible style oh yeah
Well shoot we just got a reaction from God so now we have pushed two buttons at once and God thinks its cool too!Wow My Minds just really blown best High ever w/out drugs or alcohol! So Thats not even enough we start looking at the gear shift and the gas pedals and the clutch and the brake and looking up The Mother of all Mothers the steering wheel this baby turns and we're still doing a nice cruise but cmon this babys got power!
so we start trying to help God steer cuz its a cool car oh man the hair blowing in the breeze
Nice sunshine lookin cool feelin cool got our shades on oh yeah we are cool! and then we start messing with all the controls turning the stereo up and finally we start pushing God out cuz we are gonna drive this baby ourself dont ya know it!wow we're cruising along we start thinking was it okay to just shove him out well ehh we'll be fine....
Five miles down the road we lose control we slip we slide the beautiful ride we had is gone we flip over engulfed in flames with the car if only we hadnt wanted control so bad if only we could be at peace being passenger but now the perfect car the perfect ride and the peace is gone and we're dead cuz we took control one more time Thanks for listening to this read or reading this read rather but as you see we have a choice to control or not control Live or die
Willing To Go To Any Lengths....
Ok Ive made this a topic on a forum I visit as well as one of the other blogs I do.
What Does it mean to go to any Lengths?
For Me it means beyond all I can think or imagine and just do because someone said it would work.
Am I willing to go to any Lengths?
Truthfully No I am not. Especially not always!
It isnt that I think everything should come to me.
But sometimes yes if I cant get to it then yes somehow help should come to me, I think... somehow.
Its Not always easy Just Not drinking Just not picking up a pill or a joint or what have you.
But staying cleean N sober to me is not just about not Picking up!
Its whats happening inside my heart Mind will and emotions.
No I dont always take control over them and many times yes I imagine I let them control me.
But I can say I do have some hope today. Yes I am stronger probably than I think I am.
Ive lived the worse life before, and I sure as heck dont plan on going back anytime soon.
So I will do what I feel comfortable in doing and pray for the willingness to go to any lengths
on a daily basis, but maybe just pray just for today.
I do want to be happy joyous, and free.
Please feel free to comment back on this subject and share whats happening with youand going to any Lengths :-)
